The 4th of July at our house is the fun of the food! This years menu:
Grilled pork chops topped with a basil, blue cheese, honey and almond "salad" with a grilled nectarine on the side. A summer spinach salad and grilled pineapple
Cucumber Limeade and watermelon slushees for the drinks
Watermelon cupcakes (complete with mini chocolate chips for seeds) with a light lime cream cheese frosting- soooo yummy (also dutch oven peach cobbler-not pictured) 
a day at the annual Snowbird picnic
top if off with lighting every firework in the box-and the box- a Success!
